Many smaller studios and control rooms suffer from low frequency anomalies not only due to their lack of adequate bass trapping in general but also du to their dimensions. A standing wave occurs when a waves length coincides with a rooms dimension. Thisis the reason many people ask us "Why do I have tons of bass in one place but if I move my head slightly to the right or left I have no bass at all?"
