Sound Absorbing Acoustic Window Reveal Liners
Introduction
Custom Audio Designs' Prosonic WRL sound absorbing acoustic window reveal liner system is a decorative and robust reveal liner for use in secondary glazing systems.
The WRL Window Reveal Liner provides a practical means of improving the sound insulation performance of secondary or tertiary glazed windows. Typically improvements of 2–4dB can be achieved using acoustic window reveal liners as long as the depth is adequate.
Their application to the reveals substantially reduces the reverberant sound field in the void formed between the primary and secondary glazing.
Traditionally reveal liners have been formed, on site, by cutting strips of material such as ceiling tiles. Not only does this present numerous practical problems and present a poor visual finish but acoustically they were extremely inefficient.
Description
- Superior sound absorption properties
- Made to measure (+/- 3mm)
- Wide colour range
- More suited to internal studio windows and low UV
- Maintenance-free
- Simple to fix
An absorptive core of rigid acoustic fibreglass with hardened edges, fabric wrapped around all the sides and top.
The acoustic core is faced with an acoustically transparent fabric. The full colour range can be seen here.
With no perforated metal facing the acoustic core can be 100 percent efficient.

Installation
These types are very lightweight and are generally friction fitted and held with adhesive. In some cases mechanical fixings, or angled sections, are required especially if the reveal is not uniform in width.
