Acoustic plasterboard is designed for use in applications where superior sound insulation and noise reduction is required over and above that achieved by using standard grade plasterboard. Its higher density helps block sound energy enhancing acoustic performance.
The product alone is not enough to effectively soundproof a wall or ceiling it needs to be used in conjunction with other acoustic products or as an approved complete system.
It complies fully with BS EN520 and is categorised as Type A,D.
Acoustic plasterboard has a thermal conductivity figure of k = 0.24W/mK
Thermal resistance:
12.5mm = 0.05m2 K/W
15.0mm = 0.06m2 K/W
